    Kingfisher commences new flights to Mumbai, Delhi

    Kingfisher Airlines on Monday commenced two new daily flights from here to Delhi and Mumbai on the occasion of festival Baisakhi.


    CHANDIGARH: Kingfisher Airlines on Monday commenced two new daily flights from here to Delhi and Mumbai on the occasion of festival Baisakhi.

    The first flight from Delhi was received by Punjab Governor S F Rodrigues, who is also the Administrator of Chandigarh Union Territory, with Bhangra dancers welcoming the passengers.

    The flights are being operated using Airbus A320 aircraft featuring personalised in-flight entertainment on every seat and world class service, a Kingfisher spokesman told reporters here.

    Kingfisher is the third operator offering flights to the two cities from here after Jet Airways and Air India.

    It has announced special invitation fares to Delhi and Mumbai, which would be Rs 1,000 and Rs 3,125 (both fares exclusive of taxes of Rs 2,375) respectively.

    The spokesman said that Chandigarh also gets connected with Kolkatta as the morning flight from New Delhi would connect an incoming flight from there and the return flight to the national capital from here in the evening would also provide a connection to Kolkata.

    The airline also commenced four other flights today from New Delhi to Goa and Hyderabad, from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and from Chennai to Coimbatore. With the launch of these new services, Kingfisher would now have 250 departures daily from 39 destinations with 42 aircrafts.
