    Handing over MK-1A to Army step towards ‘Aatmanirbhar’ Bharat: DRDO Chief

    DRDO Chief G Satheesh Reddy commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to handover MK-1A fighter jet to Indian Army and called it “a step towards making the country complete Aatmanirbhar.” “It is a great decision by PM to dedicate MK-1A to the nation by handing it over to Indian Army, giving a message that India stands by its indigenous systems and that they would be promoted and encouraged in a big way. It is a step towards making the country complete ‘Aatmanirbhar’,” said chief Reddy. He further said, “Arjun Mark1A is an all state-of-art feature incorporated tank with 71 additional features. Many more in pipeline such as air to air missile Astra for IAF and Navy, Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon, Air-independent propulsion, ATAGS guns, future aircraft and Medium Power Radar.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over the Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A) to the Indian Army in Chennai, Tamil Nadu tomorrow.
