Kangana Ranaut, BJP's Mandi Lok Sabha election candidate today said that Rahul Gandhi's disastrous political career is because of his mother's ambition. In an interview with India Today, she said that both Rahul and Priyanka were pressured into politics. Ranaut also proposed alternative careers for Rahul. BJP candidate Ranaut said that both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were under significant pressure from their mother to remain in politics, implying that they deserved the freedom to pursue their own paths in life.

Ranaut expressed that Rahul Gandhi, along with his sister Priyanka, was coerced into politics by their mother, Sonia Gandhi, whom she referred to as an "ambitious mother." Drawing a comparison to the movie '3 Idiots', Ranaut highlighted how familial expectations can shape one's path, suggesting that Rahul Gandhi's situation mirrors that of the film's characters.

According to Ranaut, Sonia Gandhi's insistence on her children's political involvement amounted to "torture," depriving them of the opportunity to lead their own lives. She emphasized Rahul Gandhi's predicament, remarking on his perpetual rebranding as a youth leader despite being over 50 years old. Ranaut speculated that Rahul Gandhi might feel isolated and pressured due to these circumstances.

Offering an alternative perspective, Ranaut suggested that Rahul Gandhi could have pursued a different career, even considering acting, given his family's wealth and resources. She opined that his mother's vast wealth could have afforded him the freedom to explore various professional avenues. Ranaut also touched upon rumors surrounding Rahul Gandhi's personal life, mentioning his purported romantic involvement but his reluctance to marry.
