    India reports 5,676 new coronavirus cases, 21 deaths

    ​The 21 new deaths took the death toll to 5,31,000, with three deaths each reported from the national capital, Punjab and Rajasthan, two from Karnataka and one each from Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Kerala reported six more deaths.

    In the last 24 hours, India reported 5,676 new coronavirus infections and 21 deaths. Active cases in the country rose to 37,093, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry. India's total case tally rose to 4.47 crore (4,47,68,172)

    The 21 new deaths took the death toll to 5,31,000, with three deaths each reported from the national capital, Punjab and Rajasthan, two from Karnataka and one each from Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Kerala reported six more deaths.

    Active cases are now 0.08% of the total cases, while the national recovery rate has been pegged at 98.73%.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,42,00,079 and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19%

    According to the ministry's website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
