It is also expected that the bad weather will create travel disruption in several places. People are expected to experience mild Christmas with a chance of heavy downpours compared to snow as the temperatures reach double figures in the south.

However, people may experience snowfall on Sunday as the cold Arctic air will land in northern Scotland. As per the Maps from WXCharts, the northwest of Scotland can witness 10 centimetres of snow falling, which will continue throughout next week. Apart from that, Northern England may have a snowstorm on Monday.

The Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for snow and ice, and it is expected that the weather will remain the same from 9 pm on Christmas Day until 6 pm on Boxing Day.

As per the warning for northern and western Scotland, some travel disruption to higher routes is likely to occur due to regular blustery showers.
"Due to the weather condition, roads and railways are likely to be affected. However, there is a tiny chance that the power supplies will be interrupted. Also, people can experience icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths," the warning further adds.

Christmas Day will be relatively mild, with scattered rains. Boxing Day is expected to be colder, and portions of Scotland will experience snow showers. On Tuesday, there will be a heavy downpour.
