China: Deadly earthquake rattles northwestern Gansu and Qinghai province

A strong earthquake struck a mountainous region of northwestern China, killing at least 131 people in the country’s deadliest quake in nine years.Houses caved in and crumbled in the Monday night earthquake that left more than 900 injured, Chinese media reports said.Most of the casualties were in Gansu province and the rest in the neighboring province of Qinghai.(AP
