IPL 2023: After a sizzling knock against KKR, CSK’s Rahane says ‘the best is yet to come’IANS
Ajinkya Rahane delivered a magical inning while playing the Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens on Sunday. Bombarding sixes and fours on the balls of the opponent Kolkata Knight Riders, the CSK batsman plunged the team to a massive score of 235/4.
The Yellow squad registered a grand win of 49 runs and climbed to the top of the points table. After the great victory, Ajinkya Rahane spoke in the post-match presentation and warned the other teams that the best is yet to come.
The Chennai Super Kings dominated the home ground of Kolkata Knight Riders Eden Garden on April 23. Ajinkya Rahane and Devon Conway's scintillating knocks in the first innings and Maheesh Theekshana's bowling allowed Chennai Super Kings to register a brilliant victory helping CSK to lead IPL 2023.
After the match, Rahane said that he had a clear mindset, and after his team had a brilliant start, he went to play his shots and kept the momentum and enjoyed the game.
However, he added that he feels the best is yet to come.
Appreciating the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he said, “It is great learning, I have played under Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) for India for many years, and now even at CSK, it has been great learning. If you listen to whatever he says, you will more often than not perform.”
After being eliminated from the national Test side last year, the Indian batsman is back in form. Rahane scored 209 runs in five matches at an average of 52.25 and an astonishing strike rate of 199.04. He has scored two half-centuries so far, with the best score of 71*.
