AHMEDABAD: Reacting to Supreme Court's decision to dismiss the curative petition of 1993 Mumbai blast convict Yakub Memon, BJP MP Kirit Somaiya today said his execution will give solace to the victims.

"Twenty-two years after the serial bomb blasts, we Mumbai citizens are going to get justice today. I am sure Yakub Memon will be hanged within a fortnight and that will give solace to the departed souls of the innocent victims and their destroyed families," Somaiya, MP from Mumbai North-East, said.

He was here to attend a programme organised by 'Blind People's Association', an NGO, for the distribution of electronic limbs to five handicapped persons.

However, when asked about extradition of Dawood Ibrahim, the mastermind of the blasts who is suspected to be in Pakistan, the BJP MP evaded the question.
