    Hamirpur athlete wins two gold medals in World Para Athlete Grand Prix

    Saurabh Sharma, an athlete from Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur district, has clinched two gold medals in the World Para Athlete Grand Prix held in Nottwil city, Switzerland. Representing India in the T12 category, Sharma emerged victorious in the 155-meter and 5000-meter races. His exceptional performance at the championship, which commenced on June 6 and concludes on June 9, showcases his dedication and talent.

    Hamirpur (HP): Saurabh Sharma, an athlete from Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur district, has won two gold medals in the ongoing World Para Athlete Grand Prix in the Nottwil city of Switzerland. Sharma emerged victorious in 155 metre and 5000 metre races.

    Sharma, who hails from Ropa Khayah village of Nadaun area in Hamirpur district, is representing the Indian team in the T12 category. This championship, which started on June 6, will conclude on June 9.

    He had earlier won seven gold medals at the national level.

    "Saurabh started his sports journey from a young age and today he has also fulfilled his dream of representing India and winning a medal for the country," said Sharma's elder brother Vikas.

    Sharma is currently studying in the National Drishti Divyangjan Empowerment Institute in Dehradun. His coach Naresh Singh Nayal expressed happiness over Sharma's excellent performance.

    He said that Sharma has worked very hard in Dehradun and the result is there for everyone to see.
