C-60 commandos were deployed for the search, and upon encountering Naxalite fire, they retaliated, resulting in the casualties. Vasu, the Perimili Dalam commander, was among those killed. Weapons and Naxal literature were recovered. The operation is part of ongoing efforts against Naxal activities, especially during their Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign.
