    Viacom18 gets the right to broadcast Ultimate Table Tennis

    Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) partners with Viacom18 to broadcast UTT 2024 in Chennai from August 22 to September 7. Matches can be streamed on JioCinema and shown on Sports18 Network. The fifth season features eight teams including new additions Ahmedabad SG Pipers and Jaipur Patriots, with top Indian and global players competing.

    India end World Table Tennis Contender tournament at Lagos with nine medals, including three golds

    The Indian contingent at WTT Contender Lagos secured 9 medals, including 3 golds. Sreeja Akula made history by winning the singles title, defeating Ding Yijie 4-1. In women's singles, Ayhika and Suthirtha Mukherjee settled for bronze. Sreeja and Archana won the women's doubles, while Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar clinched the men's doubles gold. India also secured 2 medals in mixed doubles at the event held from June 19 to 23.

    Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures India (SETVI) has invested in the World Pickleball League, a new global professional pickleball league by Natekar Sports and Gaming (NSG), owned by Gaurav Natekar. NSG plans to invest over $10 million in the league, which will feature six franchises with international and Indian players, aiming to popularize pickleball globally.

    Who is Sharath Kamal, table tennis star leading India's contingent at Paris Olympics 2024

    Sharath Kamal, India's ace table tennis player, will carry the Indian flag at the Paris 2024 Olympics, marking his fifth and final Olympics appearance. Kamal, ranked World No. 88, holds a record 10 national table tennis championship titles and has secured 13 medals at the Commonwealth Games, including seven golds. He has also earned two medals at the Asian Games and is a three-time bronze medalist at the World Championships. In other appointments, MC Mary Kom, a six-time World Champion and Olympic bronze medalist, has been named the chef de mission for the Indian contingent.
