    The Indian contingent at WTT Contender Lagos secured 9 medals, including 3 golds. Sreeja Akula made history by winning the singles title, defeating Ding Yijie 4-1. In women's singles, Ayhika and Suthirtha Mukherjee settled for bronze. Sreeja and Archana won the women's doubles, while Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar clinched the men's doubles gold. India also secured 2 medals in mixed doubles at the event held from June 19 to 23.

    Indian table tennis star Manika Batra has taken to social media to express her frustration after her baggage went missing on a KLM flight from Lima to India. The baggage contained crucial sports equipment for her upcoming tournaments, including the Asian Games. Despite having a priority tag, the Indian athlete has received no further information about the whereabouts of her possessions. In response, she called on Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to intervene and assist in the recovery of her equipment. Batra is considered one of India's brightest medal hopes in the upcoming Asian Games.
