Every tree planted today brings us closer to a greener future. Youth for Seva, in partnership with Texas Instruments and Give Me Trees Trust, continues to plant saplings, nurturing them into symbols of hope and sustainability. On July 5th, 2024, 75 enthusiastic volunteers of all ages from Texas Instruments got their hands dirty, planting 650 saplings at the Muthanallur Dever Kere Plantation Site in Bengaluru for a sustainable future. Together, we're making a difference! Let's keep up the momentum for a greener planet! #saplings #treeplantation #volunteering

We have always believed that education is the cornerstone of any progress our nation will achieve in the future. However, many children across the country are deprived of this incredible opportunity to improve their lives and those around them. This could be due to financial constraints, lack of family support, and other factors. Youth for Seva operates a project called, Abhyasika (Learning center) to help such children get a shot at better education and opportunities. We focus on creating a conducive atmosphere where tutors can teach children important concepts and where children can focus, away from the stressors of daily life. While the impact of everything we do as an organization is often distilled into numbers, there are certain stories that we believe must be told that cannot be comprehended just by the numbers. These stories have the potential to inspire and spark change in anyone who hears it. Two such stories are from our Abhyasika in Vangapahad Village, Warangal, Telangana. Take the story of Sailika, a young girl who had completed her 4th standard education. She was spending her summer holidays in her grandmother's village. During her stay, she learned about the activities at the Abhyasika from friends who attended it. Intrigued, she joined the center and enjoyed the well-organized programs while accelerating her learning journey. She was so impressed by her experience that she convinced her parents to let her transfer from her school to the government school in her grandmother's village so she could continue attending the learning center. She is now happily studying in the sixth standard. Or the story of Dikshitha and Manoj. They were students at private schools in Vangapahad. They were drawn to the local Abhyasika learning center by their parents, who observed the programs for a week. Impressed by the quality of education, the parents approached the tutor to enroll their children. However, as per our policy, the tutor explained that the center offers free tuition only to students from government schools. Determined to provide their children with this opportunity, the parents transferred Dikshitha and Manoj to government schools. As a result of the work at our Abhyasika, Dikshitha has now been selected to study for free at Mahatma Gandhi Jyoti Rao Phule Gurukula School from the fifth standard. Her parents are delighted with this outcome, and Dikshitha’s younger brother is now following the same path. These stories inspire us to do better every single day and also highlight the ability of initiatives to instill lifelong learning and changes in individuals, especially children! #abhyasikas #education #learning Swaroopa Rani A | Venkatesh Murthy | Bhaskar Keshavamurthy

A lot of government schools around us face challenges with water and sanitation facilities. These issues can lead to school dropout rates increasing, particularly among girls. It can also lead to absenteeism from school. Youth for Seva is actively addressing this critical issue by providing essential sanitation facilities to schools across Karnataka. In partnership with Texas Instruments, we have significantly benefited over 20,000 children in 64 government schools over the past 8 years. Recently, we expanded our efforts to four more schools, positively impacting an additional 1,250 children. These schools include Government Higher Primary School Annasandrapalya and Doddabidarakallu in Bengaluru, MHPS Anavatti, Sirsi, and HPS Banavasi, Sirsi, where Texas Instruments, Bengaluru, handed over the new facilities to the students. #sanitation #education #schools #water

Youth for Seva’s Mumbai Chapter conducted a volunteering activity with Moody’s on June 21st, 2024. The activity included making informational charts for the kids at the Being Child Care Organization in Kandivali West. The enthusiastic volunteers from Moody's Corporation interacted with the kids around to create a wholesome atmosphere. For two hours, volunteers and children collaborated on visual drawings and sketches, sparking creativity and learning. The results were fantastic! The children crafted beautiful charts, asked insightful questions, and enjoyed their time with the volunteers. Moody's team also distributed exam pads, pens, pencils, biscuits, and chocolates. Check out the photos from this wonderful event below. #volunteering #childcare #chartmaking

We recently had a collaboration between Google employees and our community during a school painting activity. Fifty enthusiastic volunteers from Google dedicated four hours of their time, from 9 AM to 1 PM, to transform a vast area with vibrant colors. Their passion for giving back was evident not only in their artwork but also in the heartfelt reflections they shared on the importance of volunteering. This event was a beautiful reminder of the power of collective effort and the impact we can create when we come together. Thank you to all the volunteers for your hard work and dedication. #Volunteering #CommunityService #GoogleVolunteers #GiveBack #Inspiration #schoolpainting
