Demonetisation puts brakes on FMCG growth in November, December

The domestic fast-moving consumer goods sector witnessed a noticeable slowdown in the wake of the sudden withdrawal of high-value currency notes late last year, as sales growth in value terms decelerated from a high of 9.9% in October to around 3% in the rest of the quarter, according to data put out by consumer analysis firm Kantar Worldpanel.
