In a statement shared on social media platform X, Akhtar said, "Retired Colonel Waibhav Anil Kale working with UN in Rafah was Killed while going in the UN car to European hospital. That shows how indiscreet Israel's attacks are but they are not answerable to any one. At the most there will a formal apology to our government and that's all. My heartfelt condolences to col kale's wife and two daughters. He was there to help bring peace."


Colonel Kale's Tragic Demise

Colonel Kale, aged 46, lost his life while traveling from Rafah to a hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza. India's Ministry of External Affairs expressed deep sadness over his death and is facilitating the repatriation of his mortal remains.

This incident has sparked widespread concern, with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also extending condolences to Kale's family. Kharge praised Kale's dedication to global peacekeeping, highlighting his contributions and sacrifice.

Colonel Kale, who retired from the Indian Army's Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regiment, had recently joined the United Nations. His untimely death has prompted calls for investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack that led to his demise.
