Meanwhile, Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ which was released on August 11 worldwide seems to be winning in the overseas markets. While the film faced heavy criticism from audiences in India and failed to make a mark at the domestic box-office, the film has received a positive response in the overseas market. ‘LSC’ is leading in North America with Rs 22.82 crore with decent collections in the UK and Australia.

Upon its release, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ recorded a 15-20 per cent occupancy and earned Rs 11.7 crore at the domestic box-office. The collections in India started dipping after Day 1. Despite boycott calls and negative publicity, ‘LSC’ emerged as the top-grossing Indian film overseas beating ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
