Tanushree Dutta's Response

Dutta said, "Nana is scared now because his supporter base in Bollywood has dwindled. All those who stood by him are either bankrupt or have sidelined him. People can see through his manipulations now, and thus he comes up with another major gaslight. Responding to a six-year-old allegation! Nana Patekar is a pathological liar.”

Patekar, in a recent interview with The Lallantop, had denied the allegations, stating, "I knew that it was all a lie, so I did not get angry." He added, "Nothing happened. I don't know what it was about. If something had happened, I would have told. Suddenly, someone says you did this. What do I say, I didn't do it?"

Background of the Allegations

Tanushree Dutta's accusations against Nana Patekar date back to the 2008 film 'Horn Ok Pleassss'. She alleged that Patekar had sexually harassed her during the shooting of a special song. These allegations were reignited during the MeToo movement in India in 2018. Dutta faced significant backlash from both the entertainment industry and regional political groups in Maharashtra who supported Patekar. Despite the criticism, she persisted in speaking out about the harassment she endured.

In 2019, the Mumbai police gave Patekar a clean chit, citing a lack of evidence to support Dutta's claims. However, Dutta remains steadfast in her accusations and is contemplating further legal action against Patekar for conspiracy, intimidation, and other charges. Patekar, in his interview, has reiterated that there were about 50 people on the set that day, suggesting it was impossible for the alleged incident to have occurred unnoticed.

Reflecting on her ordeal, Dutta expressed regret over her decision to work with Patekar, calling it her "biggest professional mistake." She said, "Today, the whole of Mumbai knows how I was framed and mentally tortured by Nana Patekar. He is getting exposed even in his own circle, and this is his way to cover up another scandal."

Dutta compared her experiences to those of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, stating, "The situations I was in and having to navigate through seemed very much like what Sushant Singh Rajput might have gone through, but thank God I survived all this. He thought that I would be dead by now but I survived."

Reflecting on her career, Dutta expressed regret over working with Patekar, describing it as her "biggest professional mistake." She added, "Today the whole of Mumbai knows how I was framed and mentally tortured by this Nana Patekar. He is getting exposed totally even in his own circle...thus this is his way to cover up another scandal."

In his interview, Patekar maintained his innocence and downplayed the impact of the allegations on his life. He remarked, "Everyone knew the truth. What could I say at that time when nothing like this happened?" He also mentioned that he neither reads nor pays attention to online comments about him, focusing instead on his own understanding of right and wrong.
