Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 545.35 points up at 79986.8 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Sakuma Exports(down 11.36 per cent), Yamuna Syndicate(down 8.91 per cent), Redex Protech(down 8.54 per cent), Pro Fin Capital(down 7.96 per cent) and Arihants Sec(down 7.48 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 38 stocks closed in the green, while 12 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 162.66 points up at 24286.5.


On the BSE, U H Zaveri, Sawaca Business, Trident Texofab, Rajnish Wellness and Vegetable Products hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Colinz Labs, Country Club, SRG Housing Fin, D-Link(India)and Garnet Intnl touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
