Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 19.73 crore), NHPC(number of shares traded: 10.00 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 7.72 crore), IRB Infra Dev.(number of shares traded: 7.08 crore), Indian Railway Fin(number of shares traded: 6.80 crore), RattanIndia Power (number of shares traded: 6.25 crore), BHEL(number of shares traded: 5.42 crore), BEL(number of shares traded: 5.35 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 4.89 crore) and Rail Vikas Nigam(number of shares traded: 4.84 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:15AM in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 17.25 points up at 22546.3, while BSE Sensex was up 109.02 points at 74062.33 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.13 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.60 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.58 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 1.54 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While State Bank of India(down 1.68 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.64 per cent), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.40 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
