Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.51% in a weak market

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.51 per cent down at 13082.3.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:26AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Bajaj Auto(up 0.87 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.53 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MRF(down 1.74 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.49 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.12 per cent), Tata Motors(down 1.07 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 0.51 per cent at 13082.3 at the time of writing this report.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 151.75 points at 17674.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 513.58 points at 60159.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, NMDC Steel Ltd. and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Nintec Systems Ltd., Aaron Industries, Vera Synthetic, Vinny Overseas and Gayatri Rubbers and Chemicals Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shanti Overseas(Ind, Cyber Media Research & Services Ltd., SVP Global, Asahi Songwon and Zee Learn hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
