Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.99%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of Divis Laboratories(up 5.38 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 2.33 per cent), Abbott India(up 2.27 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 2.15 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.5 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Gland Pharma(down 16.15 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 2.93 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 1.51 per cent), Biocon(down 0.54 per cent) and Laurus(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.99 per cent up at 12244.2.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 111.0 points at 18314.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 234.0 points at 61963.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Zomato, PNB, YES Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Arham Technologies, Kokuyo Camlin, Nilkamal Ltd, VRL Logistics and Kaynes Technology In hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gland Pharma, Sanwaria Consumer, Sheetal Cool, Gammon Infra and Cineline India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
