NEW DELHI: Shares of G M Breweries, Dharmaj Crop Guard, JK Paper, Pudumjee Paper Prod and Refex Industries, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Tuesday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 18.11 points down at 24123.85 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Hilton Metal, Akme Fintrade(India, Baid Leasing, Future Supply Chain and Sarthak Metals, touched their fresh 52-week lows.


Overall, 21 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 29 closed in the red.


In the Nifty 50 index, L&T, Wipro, Infosys, HDFC Bank and TCS were among top gainers during the day, while Shriram Finance, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Bank, Tata Motors and IndusInd Bank ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 34.74 points down at 79441.45.

Traders piled up positions in Fertilisers, Irrigation & Allied Services, Packaging, Paper and Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock sectors, while selling was witnessed in Gas & Petroleum, Airlines, Tobacco, Beverages - Alcoholic and Metals - Non Ferrous sectors during the day.
