Monsoon mayhem: IMD sounds red alert for many southern Indian states

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on July 25 informed about the weather situation in southern Indian states. Senior Scientist RK Jenamani said that a red alert has been sounded for Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, South Konkan and Central Maharashtra regions for this Tuesday (26th July) and Wednesday (27th July).“The red alert warning on July 25 is mainly for the South Konkan area, coastal Karnataka. Telangana saw the highest rain in the last 24 hours in Nizamabad with 400 mm of rainfall. The red alert is mainly for Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, South Konkan and Central Maharashtra for the next two days,” said RK Jenamani
