Husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor, Thomas Kingston, found dead

Thomas Kingston, a financier who entered the royal family through marriage nearly six years ago with a proposal on the island of Sark, has tragically passed away at the age of 45. He was the husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and 56th in line to the throne.

Known as Tom, Kingston was a familiar face alongside his wife, Lady Gabriella, often seen socializing with Pippa Middleton, sister of the Princess of Wales. Their friendship was evident as Kingston attended Middleton's wedding to James Matthews in May 2017, accompanied by Lady Gabriella.
The news of Kingston's sudden death prompted heartfelt condolences from the King, who shares a familial connection with Lady Gabriella. She and Kingston, both great-grandchildren of George V, had been in a relationship for several years before he proposed during their stay on the island of Sark in August 2018. They tied the knot in May 2019 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, followed by a reception at Frogmore House.

Kingston's professional background primarily focused on finance, with roles including director of Devonport Capital, specializing in financing for companies in developing economies. He initially began his career in the Foreign Office, notably working on conflict resolution projects in Iraq, including efforts to secure the release of hostages.

After his tenure in the Foreign Office, Kingston transitioned to roles in asset management, notably at Schroder’s Asset Management and later at Voltan Capital Management.

His sudden passing leaves behind a legacy of professional achievement and a cherished presence within the royal circle.
