Disney World Resort in Florida hosts first-ever Diwali celebration

Synopsis
Diwali event was inaugurated by none other than Walt Disney's beloved characters, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, alongside specially-abled children. Over 1,000 guests immersed themselves in the sights and sounds of Diwali.
This Dance Fest was orchestrated under the leadership of Jeanie Beri, the founder of Jashn Productions.
"Bringing Diwali to Walt Disney World Resort for the first time was so exhilarating," Beri expressed. "We created history by sharing the joy and excitement of this important festival with the South Asian dance community. Celebrating the magic of Diwali in 'The Most Magical Place on Earth' was truly a dream come true."
The festival, held from October 26 to 28, commenced with an official parade at Disney Springs, where the dancers delivered a 20-minute choreographed performance while parading through the enchanting streets of Disney Springs.
The Dance Fest featured 17 dance schools that showcased performances that intertwined elements of pop, hip-hop, and traditional dance styles from various regions of India, including Gujarat, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh.
The event was inaugurated by Disney's beloved characters, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, alongside specially-abled children. Over 1,000 guests immersed themselves in the sights and sounds of Diwali.
Jashn Productions also embraced the spirit of giving, as they donated $10,000 to the N-Lorem Foundation which provides personalized experimental medicines free of cost to patients with nano-rare conditions.
"The Showcase was not just a celebration of a cultural tradition but a representation of unity and the power of art to bridge gaps and bring people together," shared ICC Bollywood directors Amit and Hiren, reflecting on the significance of this remarkable event.
