The jackpot has been growing since April 18 when it was last won in New York. In the recent drawing on July 28, there were 3,157,597 winning tickets across all tiers, including a $5 million winner in Pennsylvania and several $1 million winners in New York, Arizona, California, and Pennsylvania.

The highest Mega Millions jackpot to date is $1.537 billion, won in South Carolina, 2018. It was followed by a $1.348 billion ticket sold in Maine in January, and a $1.337 billion prize won last July.
