When asked about his unusual response, Santosh explained to India Today, “In my village, there’s a belief that if a snake bites you, you must bite it back twice to neutralize the venom.”

Following the incident, railway officials immediately took Santosh to a nearby hospital for treatment. The story quickly spread, drawing a crowd to the hospital, eager to see Santosh and hear his tale. Many locals speculated that the snake might not have been venomous, as a venomous bite could have posed a severe danger to Santosh’s life.

Dr. Satish Chandra, who is overseeing Santosh’s treatment, confirmed that he is now recovering and out of danger.

In a separate incident, Vikas Dubey, a resident of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, has left doctors baffled after surviving five snakebites within 45 days. The first bite occurred on the night of June 2, 2024, when Vikas was getting out of bed. His family rushed him to a private nursing home, where he was treated for two days. After his recovery, the incident was seen as an isolated case.

However, just eight days later, on June 10, Vikas was bitten again. This time, his fear of snakes intensified. Despite his growing anxiety, he received treatment at the same nursing home and returned home. The repeated bites started to worry him and his family, prompting them to take extra precautions.

On June 17, Vikas experienced his third snakebite, which caused him to lose consciousness. His concerned family took him back to the nursing home, where doctors, led by Dr. Jawahar Lal, were surprised by the frequency of the bites but managed to stabilize him. Dr. Lal remarked, “This case is strange. After the third attack, I advised Vikas to leave the village entirely.”

Following the doctor’s advice, Vikas moved to his aunt’s house in Radha Nagar, Fatehpur. Despite relocating, he was bitten a fourth time. His desperate family continued seeking treatment at the same nursing home. The doctors were perplexed by the persistent snake attacks but successfully treated Vikas each time.

The fifth snakebite occurred at his aunt’s house, further baffling the medical team. Dr. Lal described the situation as “strange” and reiterated that he had advised Vikas to leave the village after the third attack. Despite the repeated bites, Vikas’s condition remained stable after each treatment.

Vikas’s case has drawn significant attention from both the medical community and the public. The repeated snakebites and his remarkable recoveries have raised questions about his resilience and the reasons behind the frequent attacks. Some locals speculate that the snakes might be attracted to a specific scent or pheromone, while others believe it could be a series of unfortunate coincidences.

Vikas’s quick recovery each time is attributed to the timely and effective care he received at the nursing home. His story has become a topic of discussion in Fatehpur and beyond. His ability to survive multiple snakebites in such a short period is nothing short of miraculous. As he continues to recover, his story remains a bizarre chapter that has people scratching their heads. Despite the oddity of the situation, his remarkable recoveries each time are a testament to his resilience and luck.
