Subhash Ghai, the show's director, has announced that he is looking forward to his television debut with Janaaki, a show focused on women's empowerment.

Subhash Ghai, the renowned Bollywood director, producer and screenwriter known for his work on hits such as Pardes, Karz, Saudagar, Khal Nayak and Hero, is set to venture into television with his upcoming show Jaanaki. Last year, Ghai made his debut on streaming platforms with the show 36 Farmhouse. Jaanaki, a daily show focused on female empowerment, is scheduled to go on air in May 2023 and will be produced by Ghai himself. Reportedly, shooting for the show's 208 episodes is set to begin soon.
Ghai's production company Mukta Arts has signed an agreement with Prasar Bharti's CEO to produce the show. Ghai expressed his excitement at the association, saying that it is an honour to be associated with Doordarshan, the most-viewed channel in India, for his first daily soap.

The show is written by Vandana Tiwari, Rekha Babbal and Jainesh Ezardar. Rutuja Kathe is the creative director, Jignesh Vaishnav and Dharmesh are the directors, and Rahul Puri is the producer.
