Hurun Rich List 2023: The world's richest NRIs and where they call home

In the recently unveiled 360 ONE Wealth Hurun Indian Rich List for 2023, 96 out of the total 360 are NRIs. What's particularly note-worthy is that 84% of these NRIs are self-made, highlighting their entrepreneurial spirit and success.

Among the NRIs featured on the list, the United States emerges as the most favored destination, with 47 individuals choosing the US as their place of residence. The US is followed closely by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Kingdom (UK), where many NRIs have established themselves and made significant contributions to their respective communities.

When it comes to wealth, Gopichand Hinduja and his family of the Hinduja Group stand out as the wealthiest NRI. Their combined fortune amounts to an astonishing Rs 1,76,500 crore.

The Richest in India
Mukesh Ambani surged ahead of Gautam Adani to claim the top spot on the list, according to the latest findings on the 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List for 2023.

Ambani's wealth has seen a modest increase of 2%, bringing his total net worth to a staggering Rs 8.08 lakh crore. Meanwhile, Gautam Adani has experienced a notable decline in his fortune, with a significant drop of 57%, resulting in a total wealth of Rs 4.74 lakh crore.

India added two new billionaires every three weeks in the past year and now boasts of 259 billionaires, which is a 4.4-fold increase in 12 years, Hurun said.

Amid concerns about inequalities, the list said 51 individuals saw their wealth double this year compared to 24 last year.

With 328 individuals, Mumbai tops the India Rich list followed by New Delhi (199) and Bengaluru (100); for the first time, it said, adding that Tiruppur debuted among the top 20 cities producing the maximum number of entrants.
