Quality of workers: Quality is difficult to measure. One marker commonly used to measure quality is education. Here, China has a distinct advantage: 15% of the Chinese population has a college degree, while in India that number is 11%. Given the gap in their LFP rates, the numbers with college degrees that will join the labour force in the two countries would probably not be much different.
