Synopsis

Such “breakthrough infections” are expected with any mass vaccine rollout. Data suggests that only a tiny fraction of vaccinated people become infected and even fewer develop serious illness, with symptoms tending to be non-existent or mild. Moreover, vaccinated individuals who become infected have lower viral loads than unvaccinated ones, making them less likely to transmit the virus.
