He further asserts that India has the potential to fill the gap in the global semiconductor industry amid the ongoing disruptions.

India has a thriving electronic sector, with electronics production currently contributing 3.3% to the economy. The sector will grow to $320 billion by 2025 from $75 billion now, forecasts the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA). However, these ambitious numbers will become a reality only if the country manages to address its huge dependency issue in semiconductors that form the building blocks of most advanced electronics
