2025 BMW M5 in images: Gets plug-in hybrid twin-turbo V8
German Automaker BMW has revealed the 2025 BMW M5 performance sedan globally. The new M5 in its seventh generation is the most powerful M5 till date.
In terms of design, the M5 is essentially a meaner version of the regular 5 series. It features aggressive bumpers with a gloss black finish for the large kidney grille. The front and rear tracks have been widened and it also gets large air intakes.
The new M5 gets massive 20-inch front and 21-inch rear multi spoke alloy wheels as standard. At rear, it gets subtle updates and features a lip spoiler on the boot lid and a restyled rear bumper housing a diffuser and quad tailpipes.
The M5 has grown in size too, the sedan is now 1.2 inches longer, 2.7 inches wider, 2.1 inches taller and the wheelbase too is bigger now. The sedan tips the scale at 2,435 kg, over 500 kg heavier than the outgoing model.
Moving inside, the overall layout is similar to the standard model but it gets sportier elements. It features a three-spoke steering wheel that embeds dedicated ‘M’ buttons, and sporty seats.
In terms of features, it gets twin curved screens for instrument cluster and for infotainment, four-zone auto climate control, heated front seats, ambient lighting with M-specific interior lighting, a panoramic glass roof, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, wireless charging and automatic tailgate operation.
Talking about the powertrain, the sedan gets a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with an electric motor housed in the eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine puts out 585hp and the e-motor puts out 199hp resulting in a total system output of 727hp and 1001Nm of torque.
The new M5 can sprint from 0-100kph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250kph as standard, but can be extended to 305kph with the optional M Driver’s Package.
