Patel Engineering chairman Rupen Patel dies at 57

MUMBAI: Rupen Patel (57), who was chairman & MD of Patel Engineering, passed away late on Friday. His wife Janky Patel has taken over as the chairperson of the 75-year-old company, which has a market cap of nearly Rs 6,000 crore. Rupen, the third generation of the Patel family, was reappointed as CMD in April. The CMD position has been split and the board has elevated CFO Kavita Shirvaikar to the MD's position.TNN
