Agniveer, 22, shoots himself with service rifle at Agra IAF complex

A 22-year-old Agniveer in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, Shrikant Kumar Choudhary, tragically took his own life using his INSAS service rifle at the Indian Air Force complex in Agra. The reason for his actions remains unknown as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

AGRA: A 22-year-old Agniveer from Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, Shrikant Kumar Choudhary, killed himself on Tuesday night using his INSAS service rifle inside the technical area of the Indian Air Force complex at Agra's Tajnagari under Shahganj police station.
No suicide note was found, and the reason why he took the extreme step was not known, said police.

IAF has launched an inquiry to determine the circumstances leading to Choudhary's death. Choudhary was cremated in his native village Narayanpur on Thursday with a ceremonial guard of honour.
SHO of Shahganj police station, Amit Kumar Maan, on Friday told TOI that family members of the deceased did not file a police complaint. Investigation is on.
Chaudhary had joined IAF in Dec 2022, and was posted in Agra six months ago. He had come home on June 3 and joined duty 10 days later.
