Three held with gold dust worth 80L
Ahmedabad: Odhav police on Thursday arrested three persons from Rajasthan with smuggled gold dust worth Rs 80 lakh. They have been booked for alleged breach of trust, said Odhav PI P N Zinzuvadiya.
The three arrested are Shubham Pethiwala (28), a resident of Jashu Saranget in Bikaner; Faraz Gopalpuriya (31), a resident of Sujangarh in Churu; and Bhuvneshwarsingh Sodha (26), a resident of Rampura in Bikaner.

The complaint, registered by D I Patel, police sub-inspector of the surveillance squad of Odhav police, also names two others, Dharma and Rajesh. It states that on Wednesday, while checking vehicles, the I Division traffic police. intercepted a car with a Delhi registration (DL-09-BC-3983) near Soni Ni Chali crossroads in Odhav.
Pethiwala, Gopalpuriya and Sodha, who were in the car, told the cops that they had come to the city from Rajasthan.
During interrogation, they said that Dharma had promised them on-the-spot cash payment of Rs 50,000 and was to pay the remaining amount upon receiving the gold dust packets. The three were to hand over the packets to one Rajesh, an aide of Dharma, near Indira Bridge Circle. They admitted that the gold dust was smuggled into the country.
