RPSC introduces some changes in exam application forms to check unfair means
Ajmer: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has decided to implement new measures to combat the issue of dummy candidates appearing in place of genuine candidates in various selection exams. After a significant number of such cases were reported, the RPSC announced on Friday that it would require applicants to include their latest photograph with the date on it in their online application forms.
Additionally, candidates will now need to upload a scanned copy of their thumb impression, similar to the procedure followed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Another new requirement is for candidates to upload their experience certificate, if asked for, along with the main application to demonstrate their eligibility for a particular exam.
This decision comes in the wake of incidents involving paper leaks and the apprehension of numerous dummy candidates attempting to appear in various examinations on behalf of the actual candidates. The RPSC aims to seal all potential loopholes in the application process for examinations and has issued a directive making these new requirements mandatory for the next selection examination.
“In the last six months, several cases have been identified where the photo and documents of the original candidate were morphed, allowing a dummy candidate to appear in the examination,” an official source explained. The changes to the application system are intended to prevent such cheating and the appearance of dummy candidates.
Regarding the photo requirement, until now, candidates could upload any photograph to the online application form, which posed a risk of being altered to confuse between actual and dummy candidates. “Candidates must now upload their latest photograph with the date on it and carry the same photograph during the examination as well as when called for counseling,” stated Ramniwas Mehta, secretary of RPSC.
The photograph, complete with the date, must be affixed to the application form and is required at the time of the exam and during counseling and interviews.
