Official gets the boot for CM N Chandrababu Naidu land bribe

TIRUPATI: A deputy surveyor, who demanded bribe for land conversion belonging to chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, when the latter was in the opposition, was suspended by Chittoor district administration following an inquiry, which proved that the official was guilty of numerous acts of corruption in the past as well.
Deputy surveyor of Santhipuram mandal S Saddam Hussain in Kuppam assembly constituency reportedly demanded bribe of Rs 1.8 lakh, when representatives of Chandrababu Naidu approached him with a plea for land conversion.
The TDP chief, while he was in the opposition, bought an agricultural plot near Sivapuram in Kadapalle panchayat limits of Santhipuram mandal, in which he wanted to build a house.
Surveyor took Rs 1L bribe from farmer
When Naidu's representatives approached the deputy surveyor, he demanded bribe of 1.8 lakh to discharge his official duty.
After the TDP chief returned to Kuppam in the official capacity as chief minister, locals complained about various corrupt acts of the deputy surveyor.
Following the chief minister's instructions, Chittoor district administration ordered an inquiry and after it emerged that Saddam Hussain took a bribe of 1 lakh from a local farmer for land survey, he was placed under suspension.
