Pillion rider killed as man rams bike into railing while making reel

Anirudh Kalkumbe (25) died, and Madhu Shelke (30) was injured while recording a motorcycle reel heading to Tuljapur's Tulja Bhavani temple via Beed bypass, Dhule-Solapur highway, Dharashiv district. Shelke turned to the camera, lost control, and hit a railing. Kalkumbe died at Beed hospital; Shelke, with fractured legs, was transferred to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: A man died and another suffered serious injuries while recording a video reel on a moving motorcycle on Friday afternoon.
Police said both men belong to the neighbouring Jalna district, and they were heading to wards Tuljapur in Dharashiv to visit the centuries-old Tulja Bhavani temple. The men met with the accident while crossing the Beed bypass on the Dhule-Solapur national highway.

The deceased has been identified as Anirudh Kalkumbe (25), while the injured man as Madhu Shelke (30), both from Ganeshpur in Jalna district. In the video, Shelke can be seen riding the bike, while Kalkumbe is sitting pillion. The accident occurred when Shelke took his eye off the road and turned around to face Kalkumbe , who was recording the video on his phone. “Shekle had turned around to say something on camera. Within seconds, he lost control of the motorcycle and rammed the roadside railing. Kalkumbe , the pillion rider, died on the spot. Shelke has fractured both his legs,” said the police.
Police said Kalkumbe had suffered head and chest injuries. The two men were taken to the Beed-based civil hospital, where Kalkumbe was declared brought dead while Shelke was referred to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-based higher medical facility.
