70 women to shine with gold medal haul at convocation
Bengaluru: Of the 88 gold medal winners who are set to be honoured at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) convocation on Tuesday, 70 will be women.
As many as 52,650 students will graduate at the 26th annual convocation of the university, scheduled to be held at Nimhans Convention Centre.
The pass percentage dipped marginally from 84% to 82% this year, which the varsity said is normal.
The percentage has been hovering around 82% since 2020, except for 2023 when it was 84%.
Dr GK Venkatesh, renowned urologist, Dr PM Biradar, dermatologist, and Dr Pinky Bhatiya Topiwala, a physiotherapist from Madhya Pradesh, will be conferred honorary doctorates at the convocation.
The degrees to be handed out include 17 in PhD, 156 in super-speciality courses, 7,815 in PG courses, seven in PG diploma, 122 in fellowship, eight in certificate courses, and 44,525 in PG courses.
