All sitting MPs will get tickets for Lok Sabha elections, BS Yeddyurappa claims after Amit Shah meeting

BENGALURU/BELAGAVI: BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday said he is expecting the central leadership to clear the names of all sitting MPs from Karnataka.
This comes in the wake of speculation that the BJP leadership is looking to replace no less than six sitting MPs, including Shobha Karandlaje from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency.
“There’s no proposal with the central leadership to change candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Even if there’s plan to change one or two sitting MPs, we’ll consider it at a later stage. As far as I know, no such decision is being considered,” he added.
Yeddyurappa said the party’s national president Amit Shah has been appraised of the state unit’s list and that he’ll hold discussions with the leaders in two days before heading back to Delhi to finalise the list. “With only a few weeks left for the elections, the list will be finalised in a week,” he added.
‘Ready to learn common sense from MB Patil’
Taking potshots at home minister MB Patil, Yeddyurappa said he’s ready to learn common sense from the former and even appoint him as a teacher for the purpose.
The war of words between the two began after Yeddyurappa earlier in the day said AICC president Rahul Gandhi did not have any common sense when he accused the BJP of having released Jaishe-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar during the Kandahar hijacking. No sooner did Yeddyurappa say this, Patil said it’s indeed the BJP state president and senior leader KS Eshwarappa who lacked common sense.
“Yeddyurappa, who said the IAF airstrikes would help the BJP win 22 seats in the state, shows his lack of common sense,” Patil had said.
