Bhopal: With Lok Sabha elections due in April-May this year, the BJP is holding a National Council meeting in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday. Briefing reporters at the BJP media centre here, state party president VD Sharma said that 1,226 leaders, people’s representatives and office-bearers will join the meeting from
Madhya Pradesh.
The meeting with a total 11,500 BJP delegates from across the country will be addressed by BJP national president JP Nadda during the inaugural session on Saturday.
“The National Council convention of the party will be inaugurated by party national president JP Nadda on Feb17 at the Bharat Mandapam of Pragati Maidan. Registration will start at 11 am and the inaugural session will start at 3 pm. During the session, political resolutions will be discussed and deliberations will be held from the point of view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” VD Sharma said.
There will be presentations made by party units from various states. The concluding session of the convention will be held on February 18 at 2 pm. “PM Narendra Modi will guide workers present with a valedictory address in this session. As the Prime Minister has instructed, the party will contest elections at every booth. Strategic preparation for booth management can also be discussed in the convention,” Sharma said.
VD Sharma argued that this will be the first national party meeting to be held after the consecration of Lord Rama’s idol in Ayodhya.
