BHOPAL: There has been no respite from heat in the state. The day temperature continues to remain sharply above the normal mark. But respite may be witnessed by the weekend, as monsoon was expected to hit the state in the next few days.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle, said that there was a western disturbance. A cyclonic circulation was over Saurashtra and adjoining areas.
A trough was passing from cyclonic circulation till over the Arabian Sea. A possibility of rain and thunder was underlined for Bhopal Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Dewas, Ujjain, Shajapur, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Damoh, Sagar and Pandhurna districts.
Northern limit of monsoon continues to pass through Navsari, Jalgaon, Amravati, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram and Islampur. Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of sub Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar during next 4-5 days, the meteorological dept stated on Sunday.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Sunday was recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees more than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 27.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than normal mark. Day temperature in Khajuraho was recorded at 46 degrees celsius.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Monday the meteorological officials said, there would be cloudy sky with possibility of thunderclap and light rain. Day and night temperature will be respectively 39 degrees celsius and 27 degrees celsius while average wind speed will be fourteen kilometers per hour.
In the forecast for the state the meteorological officials issued warning of heat waves for places including Guna, Mauganj, Satna, Niwari and Maihar districts. A warning of warm night was issued for Shivpuri district. A warning of warm night and
heat wave was issued for Gwalior, Sidhi, Rewa, Umaria, Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh districts. A warning of thunderclap and high velocity winds was issued for Chhindwara, Seoni, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa and Khargone.
