BHUBANESHWAR: Chief minister Mohan Majhi on Friday directed the secretaries of different departments to prepare plans and programs for implementing the election manifesto promises. He said this while attending a meeting of department secretaries here.
“Our government is accountable to the people of the state. As people’s representatives, we are committed to working for the people.
That’s why it is your responsibility to fulfill the 21 poll promises in an appropriate manner. Start working in this direction,” said Majhi to the secretaries.
He asked the bureaucrats to deliberate and discuss the budget part before implementing the poll promises. He directed them to prepare a report regarding the financial situation of the state.
He said Odisha will celebrate the 100th year of its formation as a special province in 2036, and India will celebrate its 100th Independence Day in 2047. “Keeping these things in mind, we need to prepare Vision-2036. We need to do many things in the coming five years which could not be achieved during the last 24 years. For this, we need to work hard to make Odisha a leading state in India,” he added.
Majhi further suggested the secretaries make the public grievance redressal process effective and robust. “People repose faith in the government if they meet officials or people’s representatives and discuss their problems. My government will work as the people’s government. No wall will come up between the public and the government. People’s grievances should be resolved. For this, technology can be used, and a necessary monitoring system can be adopted,” he added.
He also said that secretaries should take measures for the use of Odia in different programs. “A developed Odisha can be created with your help. Administrative reforms and guaranteed service will help us in this endeavor,” said the Chief Minister while addressing the bureaucrats.
