‘AAP is using all means to poach leaders’
Jalandhar: BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh has said AAP was making local leaders from other parties switch to it using all sorts of pressure tactics and allurements, and none of those joining it were actually happy.
“They are using saam, daam, dand, bhed (conciliation/persuasion, monetary incentive, punishment and divisions/discord). They are resorting to vendetta politics and people are fearing false cases.
None of those who are joining them appear with smiling faces. People are under stress,” Chugh said, addressing a press conference here on Thursday.
“CM staying in Jalandhar and requiring to consistently campaign in the bypoll shows his government failed to deliver in two years,” he argued.
He alleged that money sent by the Centre for laboratory equipment, X-ray machines and creating TB wards was used on posters and publicity material. An auditing team of doctors pointed out these irregularities, he claimed.
Chugh alleged that extortion and kidnappings were the two ‘gifts’ of the AAP govt in Punjab and gangsters were giving interviews from jail. “Punjab now faces targeted and announced killings. Punjab is being pushed towards dark days,” he said.
Chugh also claimed that ony BJP could provide Maharaja Ranjit Singh-like governance in Punjab and could pull the state of financial crisis. tnn
