The Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, reaffirmed the state government's commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families. In the event of an employee's martyrdom, the bereaved family receives job security, a pension, and financial assistance amounting to Rs 1 crore 30 lakh. Contract-based employees' families receive Rs 50 lakh in case of accidental fatalities. Kapoor paid homage to police martyrs on Police Martyrdom Day, highlighting their sacrifices in upholding law and order and protecting citizens. He praised the leadership of the chief minister and home minister for implementing welfare initiatives.

CHANDIGARh: Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor on Saturday reiterated the state government's unwavering commitment to the welfare of police personnel and the families who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
In the unfortunate event of an employee's martyrdom, the bereaved family not only receives job security but also a pension, in addition to substantial financial assistance amounting to Rs 1 crore 30 lakh.

Furthermore, for cases of accidental fatalities involving contract-based employees within the police department, a financial aid of Rs 50 lakh is extended to support the dependent family.
He was speaking after paying homage to the immortal police martyrs by laying a wreath at the 'Police Martyr Memorial' on the solemn occasion of Police Martyrdom Day, held at Police Lines, Panchkula. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by 188 valiant martyrs of the Indian Police Force.
"Today, we gather to honor the courageous martyrs of the Indian Police Service, who have tirelessly striven to uphold the nation's law and order, as well as safeguard its unity and integrity. They have selflessly laid down their lives in the noble pursuit of safeguarding our security, protecting the lives and property of our fellow citizens. Today, we stand in reverence, honoring the indomitable courage and unwavering devotion to duty exemplified by the valiant sons of Haryana Police and the Indian Police Service, whose sacrifices ensure the safety of every citizen,’’ said Kapoor.

Expounding on the sacrifices made within Haryana, he poignantly remarked that since the state's inception, 83 brave individuals from the police force have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the state and its people. DGP emphasized the dual role of the police force, emphasizing their responsibility in protecting the nation's borders and maintaining internal security, underscoring their vital contribution to preserving peace and harmony.
Kapoor also lauded the visionary leadership of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the insightful guidance of home minister Anil Vij for their instrumental roles in the seamless implementation of a range of welfare initiatives.
Additional director general of police (Law and Order) Mamta Singh, additional director general of police (Cyber) OP Singh, IG and police commissioner Panchkula Sibas Kaviraj, Panchkula deputy commissioner Sushil Sarwan, and several other dignitaries and officers were present on this occasion
