Ahead of polls, Saini govt tries to woo BC community
Panchkula: Ahead of the assembly elections in the state, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini led BJP govt on Friday announced a slew of measures to woo the people from the Backward Classes.
Ranbir Gangwa, the deputy speaker of the Haryana assembly, informed that the state govt had decided to celebrate the birth anniversaries of revered saints and gurus from all the communities under the Sant Mahapurush Samman Yojana.

As a part of the initiative, the govt for the first time will celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Daksha Prajapati in Hisar on July 21. The move has brought happiness among the Backward Class (BC) community, which is looking forward to the event.
During a press conference following a state-level executive meeting at the Sector 6 Field Hostel here, Gangwa also mentioned that CM Saini had decided to increase the creamy layer income limit for the BC category from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, in line with the central govt’s policy. Agricultural and salary income will be excluded from this calculation, which is expected to benefit a larger section of the BC community, he said.
Furthermore, the BC category will receive full representation in all the areas, and 27% reservation will be provided in the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, a move that has been appreciated by the community.
Gangwa also emphasised the govt’s efforts towards inclusive development and respecting every community, which has brought happiness to all sections of society.
He expressed confidence that the BJP govt will be re-elected for a third term with a significant majority under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini, given the positive response from the public towards these initiatives.

R S Verma, a former IAS officer and a representative of Maharaja Daksha Mahasabha, said they were diligently working to make Maharaja Daksha Prajapati’s birth anniversary celebrations a success.
Thousands of citizens from Panchkula and Chandigarh are expected to participate and pay homage to Maharaja Daksha Prajapati, showcasing the widespread support and reverence for the leader, said Verma.
The govt has also initiated the establishment of an ITI named after Maharaja Daksha Prajapati, which is seen as a step towards honouring his legacy and promoting education in the state.
