No let-up in heatwave; Pb, Hry rainfall deficient
Bathinda: Punjab recorded a fall of 1.2°C in average maximum temperature as compared to the previous day but it remained above normal by 5.2°C in the state.
The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 45.8°C at Samrala in Ludhiana. Haryana recorded a fall of 1.3°C in average maximum temperature over the previous day but it remained above normal by 5.3°C.
At 46°C, Sirsa was the hottest in the state. Punjab is 89% deficient in rainfall. Till June 18, state received 2.6mm rain, against a normal of 24.3mm. In Haryana, it is 91% deficient. State has received 2.3mm rain against normal of 24.9mm. In Himachal Pradesh, it was 67% deficient. State has received 16.4mm against usual 50.3mm.
