UT cop was at fault, nobody taunted him on Kangana row: HP
CHANDIGARH: A day after a UT cop reported manhandling in Dalhousie, HP, in an alleged backlash over Kangana slapping incident, the Himachal police claimed that it was UT police ASI Paramjit Singh who was at fault as he had parked his SUV in the middle of the road, leading to chaos at Khajjiar, Dalhousie, HP. When the local police told him to move his car, the ASI started arguing with them, the HP police said, adding nobody taunted or commented on the Sikh cop regarding the Kangana incident.

Abhishek Yadav, SP, Chamba, Himachal, said ASI Paramjit Singh on June 9 had parked his vehicle in the middle of the road in Khajjiar, which was obstructing traffic. When police officials requested him to move the vehicle, he started arguing with them. This incident has no connection with the Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut issue. Also, there was no altercation with local people regarding the same, said the Chamba SP.
SP Abhishek Yadav also said the statement of Paramjit Singh would be recorded, along with other cops who allegedly misbehaved with him in Khajjiar, as he had filed a written complaint to the DGP Himachal Pradesh through email after the incident.
ASI Paramjit Singh alleged that he had gone to Khajjiar near Dalhousie for a 2-day vacation in his personal car on June 9. Paramjit claimed that he parked his car at Khajjiar where other taxis and cars were also parked. Later, his son called him on his phone and said the local people were objecting to his parking the car at the current spot. Paramjit said other cars were also parked in the area, but nobody listened to him, and locals started quarreling with him. The locals allegedly were angry over the slapping incident involving BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport.
Later, one constable of HP Police reached the spot and started arguing with Paramjit, telling him to park his car somewhere else. When Paramjit moved his car, ASI- ranked cop Madan Paul of HP Police also argued with him, saying that he was driving in the wrong lane.
