Consistency is key, stresses SA allrounder Chloe ahead of T20Is
Chennai: With the three-match T20 International series between India women and South Africa commencing here on Friday, Chloe Tryon, the Proteas all-rounder, acknowledged on Wednesday that her team must perform consistently to boost their morale for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh later this year.
She emphasized the importance of making the right choices at crucial moments.
Currently, the South African team is on a tour of India, where they have suffered defeats in the three ODIs and the solitary Test match.
Chloe, who has recovered from a back injury that had sidelined her since April, said in a press conference: “We have played a lot of good cricket in patches, but, we have to be more consistent. We have to do well in all aspects and ensure that we do the right things at the right stages. It will give us a lot of confidence going into the World Cup.”
The 30-year-old commended her team’s batting lineup for their outstanding determination and grit throughout the one-off Test match. She expressed admiration for their ability to prolong the game and take it down to the wire. “It was good to watch, especially the character they showed. The Test wasn’t easy after Day 1. But, if you look at how they went into Day 3 and Day 4, it was fantastic,” she reckoned.
